Some of our fabulous Trustees lent a helping hand at the Faces of Ward 84 summer party yesterday – a very special event for the children and families who have been treated on the children’s oncology ward (ward 84) at the Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital.
They got stuck in helping the kids to decorate their own t-shirts and design some lovely crafts and artwork. A big thank you to the lovely Lucy at Truth Creative who volunteered to help us out and took lots of fab photos.
It was an absolute privilege for Friends of Rosie to be a part of this very special day once again and to meet so many lovely families.
It’s very rare to feel such a strong sense of community and solidarity at an event. While no-one would choose to be part of this particular community, the support, shared experiences, laughter, tears and strength of these families and the support network around them, both at the hospital and at home, is something incredible. Through such heartache, there is such love.
Thank you Faces of Ward 84 for letting us be a part of it and we hope you all had a wonderful day.
