To mark the end of the first week of #childhoodcancerawarenessmonth, we’d like to give a shout out and thank you to the wonderful Natalie Hansford who ran the Kenilworth Half Marathon for Friends of Rosie last weekend, raising a fantastic £260.00.
She completed the race in a very impressive 2 hours 5 minutes, no mean feat for the mum of 3 year old twins who we’re sure give little opportunity for training (or sleep!).
Says Natalie, “I was very nervous on the morning of the race as my knees had been hurting all week beforehand. But once the klaxon went and we started, everything fell in to place.
“The route was hilly and it drizzled all the way round but thankfully I was in the zone. The last 700 metres was when I started to really feel it but seeing my husband and three year old twins cheering me on near the end gave me a boost for a sprint finish! 2 hours 5 minutes total.
“I’m so pleased to have raised £260 for Friends of Rosie and particularly running in memory of Gracie McCall, both were a great inspiration to me as I ran. I look forward to raising money for Friends of Rosie in the future, although I’ll be resting up for a short while!”
A huge well done and thank you to Natalie, raising vital funds for children’s cancer research in memory of gorgeous Gracie and in support of #CCAM
